Spearhead Pest Control
Effective Date: August 20, 2026
Last Updated: August 20, 2026
Spearhead Pest Control ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at spearheadpestcontrol.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect the personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") of visitors and customers who use our Site or communicate with us online, and the rights you have regarding that information.
This policy is intended to comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and California's "Shine the Light" law.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of Personal Information when you visit our Site, request a quote, schedule a service, or contact us:
Information you provide directly:
- Identifiers and contact details — name, email address, phone number, and service or billing address
- Service information — property details relevant to pest control service (property type, pest concerns, access instructions, service history)
- Customer records — service agreements, invoices, and communications you send us by form, email, phone, or text message
- Payment information — billing details processed through our third-party payment
processor (we do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems)
Information collected automatically when you use the Site:
- Internet or electronic activity — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs, collected through standard web server logs and, where used, analytics tools
- Approximate location — general geographic location inferred from your IP address
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, or precise geolocation through the Site.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the Personal Information we collect to:
- Respond to quote requests, inquiries, and customer service questions
- Schedule, perform, and follow up on pest control services
- Prepare service agreements and process payments
- Send appointment reminders, service notifications, and legally required notices (such as pesticide pre-treatment notices)
- Maintain service records as required by California structural pest control regulations
- Improve our Site, services, and customer communications
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights
We do not use your Personal Information for automated decision-making or profiling that
produces legal or similarly significant effects.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your Personal Information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may disclose Personal Information to the following categories of third parties, only as
needed to operate our business:
- Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as:
- Payment processing (e.g., Square)
- Customer relationship and field-service management software (e.g., PestPac)
- Website hosting and site-building platforms
- Email and text-message communication services
- Professional advisors — attorneys, accountants, and insurers, where reasonably necessary
- Government and regulatory bodies — including California structural pest control
authorities, when required by law, regulation, or legal process - Successors in interest — in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of all or part of our business, subject to this policy
Each service provider is given only the information needed to perform its function and is
expected to protect it.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our Site may use cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and, where enabled, website analytics so we can understand how visitors use the Site. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent; some parts of the Site may not function properly without them.
Third-party tracking: Other than the service providers described above (such as an analytics provider acting on our behalf), we do not authorize third parties to collect your Personal Information across other websites over time.
Do Not Track signals: Because there is no uniform industry standard for recognizing "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signals, our Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. Where a legally recognized universal opt-out mechanism applies to us (such as the Global Privacy Control), we will honor it as required by law. We do not sell or share your Personal Information in any case, so no data practices change based on these signals.
5. Data Retention
We keep Personal Information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining service and treatment records for the retention periods required by California structural pest control laws and regulations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Personal
Information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse — including limiting access to
customer data and using reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the
internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your California Privacy Rights
California residents have the following rights with respect to their Personal Information:
- Right to know — request the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties it was disclosed to
- Right to delete — request deletion of your Personal Information, subject to legal exceptions (such as records we must keep under pest control regulations or tax law)
- Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate Personal Information
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right
Certain of these rights under the CCPA/CPRA technically apply only to businesses meeting statutory thresholds (annual gross revenue over $26.625 million, handling the personal information of 100,000 or more consumers or households, or deriving 50% or more of revenue from selling or sharing personal information). Regardless, we choose to honor know, delete, and correct requests from all California residents as a matter of policy.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10. We will verify your request by matching the information you provide against our records and will respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with written permission.
"Shine the Light" (Civil Code § 1798.83): We do not disclose Personal Information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. California residents may contact us once per calendar year to confirm this or request information about any such disclosures.
8. Reviewing and Changing Your Information
You may review the Personal Information we hold about you or request changes to it (for
example, updating your phone number, email, or service address) at any time by contacting us using the information in Section 10. Current customers can also request updates when scheduling or receiving service.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Site and services are directed to adults seeking pest control services. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13, and we do not sell or share the Personal Information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has provided us Personal Information, contact us and we will delete it.
